Shopify store audit
Find out what is slowing your store down, what to fix first, and where AI fits.
A fixed-price review of the storefront and the operations around it: Core Web Vitals, theme code, app stack, checkout, and the work AI could take off your team. You get a prioritized plan in five business days that any developer can execute.

- Five business days to the written report
- $2,500 fixed quoted before access
- Read-only collaborator access
- Audit fee credits toward any follow-on project
Who this is for
- Your store feels slow and nobody can tell you why.
- You are paying for AI apps and features and cannot say which ones earn their place.
- You are about to spend money on a redesign and want to know if you actually need one.
- You want a second opinion before signing off on an agency's recommendation.
Why your Shopify store is slow
Most slow Shopify stores share the same causes: too many apps adding scripts to every page, a theme that has drifted through years of customization, and analytics, chat, and review tags that load ahead of the content. None of these are visible from the admin, which is why the store gets slower without anyone changing anything on purpose.
The audit measures Core Web Vitals on your real pages, traces every script back to the app or tag that added it, and weighs the theme itself. A typical fix is removing or deferring what is not earning its place and then tightening the theme. That is usually a short, fixed-scope project, and the audit fee credits toward it.
What you get
- Performance audit: Core Web Vitals, theme weight, app bloat, third-party scripts.
- Technical review: theme code quality, customizations, upgrade risk.
- App stack review: what each app costs you in speed, money, and risk.
- Conversion and checkout review.
- AI review: the AI apps and features already running, what they cost, and the store and operations work a model could take over.
- A prioritized action plan, ordered by impact and effort.
Selected work
- NOMAD Outdoor Traced the load time on a gear storefront back to what was costing it, then fixed it.
- Kopari Beauty Checkout flow reviewed and rebuilt on a high-volume beauty storefront.
- Kylie Cosmetics Infrastructure reviewed against launch-day load before viral product drops.
My take
The same three problems show up in most audits: apps injecting scripts on every page, a theme customized past the point anyone understands it, and third-party tags loading before the content does. What the audit will not do is redesign your store or run a conversion program. It tells you what is wrong, what order to fix it in, and roughly what each fix costs, so you can decide who does the work. The AI section works the same way: what is already running, what it costs, and where a model would save your team time, including when the answer is nowhere.
How it works
Read-only access
You add me as a collaborator on the store. I do not change anything.
Written report
Findings, evidence, and the plan, in the order I would fix things.
Walkthrough call
We go through the findings and decide what, if anything, happens next.
The math
I've run an eight-person agency, held leadership in a larger one, and been CTO of a third. I know where agency budgets go: overhead, junior hours, handoffs.
AI changed that math. The person who scopes the work is the person who builds it, and there is nobody in between.

Questions
How long does a Shopify store audit take?
Five business days from the day I get collaborator access to the written report. The walkthrough call is scheduled for the following week, at your convenience.
What access do you need?
Read-only collaborator access to the Shopify admin. If you want conversion findings alongside the technical ones, read access to your analytics helps, but it is optional.
Will the audit fix anything, or just tell me what is wrong?
The audit is the report and the plan. Fixes are separate scoped projects, priced from the plan, and the audit fee credits toward them. You are free to hand the plan to your own developer instead.
Do you audit stores that are not on Plus?
Yes. The review covers the same ground on any Shopify plan, at $2,500. Plus stores are $3,500, because the checkout section is longer: there is more that can be customized there, and more that can go wrong.
What does the AI part of the audit cover?
The AI apps and features already in the store and what each one costs you, then the work around the store: product content, support, merchandising, and reporting. For each, whether a model would save your team time and what that would take. It is part of every audit, at the same price.
