I’m Disappointed in Apple Today

The end of innovation from Apple

I was holding on to a glimmer of hope. Maybe today, September 10th, Apple would finally announce something new and exciting! Nope, that didn't happen. I’m disappointed in Apple today.

Here’s why. Since Steve Jobs left the company seems that innovation has left him. Tim Cook, although he may be a great guy, just is not the innovative leader that made Apple great. Today Apple announced new iPhone models. The only major differences between current models and new models are new color options. The iPhone has been the same (for the most part) since it was introduced in 2007.

Sure every year new bells and whistles are added but Apple is so far behind its other competitors now due to a lack of innovation. Android OS along with manufacturers such as Samsung, LG and Motorola has surpassed iOS and iPhone by leaps and bounds.

It’s only a matter of time before the loyal Apple fan base begins to become fed up with the lack of innovation and forward-thinking.

I’m not sure what the plan is for Apple but I’m very close to switching platforms altogether. At this point, there’s so much more offered in the Android ecosystem compared to what Apple has going on right now.
